What is Neuro-Linguistic Programming?

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) was developed by John Grinder and Richard Bandler over 30 years ago. NLP reveals the ways in which our thoughts, physiology and behaviour are significantly influenced by our neurology, use of language and internal programming.

NLP is now seen as a vital component in creating positive change for individuals and organisations, improving our understanding of how the brain works; interpretation of behaviour and our interaction with others.

NLP is widely used in the business world in many contexts; to improve customer relationships; enhance marketing, presentations and communication skills; increase sales; improve negotiation skills; deal with challenges more effectively; motivate individuals and teams. Aquila will help you develop a creative and co operative working environment that keeps you ahead of the competition and delivers impressive results.

On a more personal level NLP could create more choice in your life; enable you to choose how you react in any situation; increase your confidence; develop your interpersonal skills; create or enhance relationships and enable you to overcome barriers. Aquila will help you change your limiting beliefs and unproductive patterns of behaviour, unlock your potential and create the life you really want, quickly and easily.

So what does “Neuro-Linguistic Programming” mean ?

Some of the terminology used in NLP may be unfamiliar a,brief explanation is  outlined below

Neuro:

Our nervous system (mind and body) processes all the information that we receive through our five senses.

  • Visual (eyesight)
  • Auditory (hearing)
  • Kinesthetic (feelings)
  • Olfactory (smell)
  • Gustatory (taste)

These neurological processes affect our thoughts; emotions; physiology and behaviour. Neurology is a fascinating area and new discoveries are being made all the time.NLP explores how we can utilise neurology to best advantage

Linguistic:

Our neural representations are organised, coded and given meaning through language and other non-verbal communication systems such as.

  • Pictures
  • Sounds
  • Feelings
  • Tastes
  • Smells
  • Internal Dialogue (Self talk)

How you use and interpret language will affect how you think; communicate and interact with others. It will influence your experience and behaviour and have a significant impact on anyone that you come into contact with.

The use of language is a fascinating subject and an understanding and application of the NLP verbal packages can have remarkable results in many contexts.

Programming:

Our Neurological processes, internal thoughts and the language that we use influences our self esteem; how we evaluate situations and resolve problems. It has an effect on how we interact with others, and the quality of our personal and professional relationships.

We create beliefs, habits and patterns of behaviour that are often repeated throughout our lives, some of which are not serving you well. NLP will help change the beliefs and patterns that are no longer required and create more positive and productive options.
